SensiFlex® Application
SensiFlex® clutches and brakes are designed for one purpose – tension control. They are not standard clutches and brakes that have been repurposed for tension control by substituting a low coefficient friction pad. SensiFlex® clutches and brakes engage at low pressures and are capable of a broad range of torque output. They supply the processing flexibility demanded from today’s narrow web converting machinery without sticking, pulsing or cogging.

Shaft Input Tension Control Clutches
Drive Arrangement:
- Shaft on which the clutch is mounted is the input.
- Clutch drives a pilot mounted sprocket, pulley or coupling when engaged.
Foot Mount Tension Control Clutches
Drive Arrangement:
- Input shaft is connected to the drive.
- Output shaft is driven when the clutch is engaged.
Tension Control Brakes
Drive Arrangement:
- Brake housing connects to the machine frame or a bracket.
- Torque is applied to the unwind shaft when the brake is engaged.
