Air Engaged, Spring Released Industrial Friction Clutches


Torque is transmitted by applying air pressure to the clutch. The torque value is proportional to the air pressure applied. When air pressure is absent, springs provide positive separation of drive discs so that torque is no longer transmitted.

IMPORTANT: If holding of the machine component is required when the clutch is disengaged, a combination clutch-brake should be considered.
