Overload Protection (Slip) - Air Adjustable
When supplied with low coefficient friction linings, many of our catalog clutch models can be used as torque limiters to protect against momentary overloads. Under normal operating conditions, a clutch behaves just like a typical mechanically adjusted friction torque limiter by slipping when the preset torque is exceeded. This option has two advantages. First is the ease of adjusting the torque setting by simply varying the air pressure supplied to the clutch. Second is the ability to completely disengage the connection when required by exhausting the air pressure via a customer supplied valve.
