Air Engaged Clutches - Regular Duty, Above 200 RPM

Through Shaft Bored, Pilot Mount Friction Clutches

  • Industrial friction clutch engages with air pressure, spring released when air is exhausted
  • Torque is linear in response to air pressure applied
  • Through/Mid Shaft or End Shaft
  • Friction clutch slides on shaft and is fixed with set screws and a customer supplied key
  • Anti-rotation arm required to prevent rotation of the air housing
  • Friction Clutches are designed for horizontal mounting. If vertical mounting is required, consult engineering for options
  • Friction clutches are suitable for Connect/Disconnect and Cycling applications
  • Maximum RPM varies by model. Please consult the detail sheets (below). Consult engineering if the intended application exceeds the listed maximum RPM.

*Low coefficient lining models are offered for applications where a small amount of slip is required or a narrower torque range is necessary. For continuous slip or tension control applications, a SensiFlex® clutch should be used.

Additional Information

Mach III industrial friction clutch units are solidly constructed and feature hang-up resistant drives to provide reliable power transmission. The clutch pilot is machined for easy mounting of a sprocket or pulley in the field, or, Mach III can provide the sprocket, pulley or v-belt sheave pre-mounted on the industrial friction clutch when it ships from our factory.
