 Spring Set Fail-Safe Brake Options

Spring applied brakes from Mach III remain engaged until pneumatic pressure is applied to release them. They provide fail-safe holding for servo motors, conveyors, hoists, winches and other applications where loads must be held stationary when the power is off. Custom models are available that have release levers for manual override.

Spring set brakes are designed for use in applications where the brake is energized after the system comes to a rest. They are only appropriate for cycling or emergency stopping under certain conditions. If your application requires either of these functions, please consult our engineers for assistance.

Function: Holding, Failsafe (Non-Cycling Applications)
Drive Arrangement: Machine Frame or Bracket to Shaft

  • Torque requirements to 5,850 pound inches.
  • Spring pressure compresses drive and friction discs to produce a fixed amount of torque.
  • Air pressure is applied to disengage the brake.
