Mach III has a unique first-shift opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer-Machinist who desires to practice his or her craft in a production environment where machining_bore-smhigh variation and low-quantity part runs are the norm. Our programmer-machinists make components for industrial clutches, brakes and torque limiters that are used in machinery across the USA and around the world. Prospective team members must be self-motivated, energetic, detail oriented individuals who can work with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational abilities and problem solving skills.

Position Summary

  1. Produce quality parts using Mazak CNC  lathes and mills.
  2. Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, set up and tooling requirements.
  3. Write new programs; load, save, and edit programs; job set-ups, load parts, operate machines, debur, and inspect parts for conformance to drawings.
  4. Investigate new tools, methods and practices to perform new machining requirements and to support continuous improvement of efficiency and quality.
  5. Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and, within capabilities, adjusts machine, controls or control media as required to insure quality of productions. Reports all machine malfunctions to Supervisor.
  6. Communicate with supervisor and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  7. Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. 
  8. Operate forklift to remove and empty scrap barrels and bins.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, Machinist Certificate preferred
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, 5 years preferred
  3. Proficiency in conversational programming, Mazatrol preferred
  4. Excellent math and print reading skills
